Soraya Fatha multi-disaplinarty practice combines video, software, sculpture and found objects to create immersive compositions that exist in both digital and physical environments. Her bold use of tangents, associations and analogies help simulate disjointed narratives replicating the rhythms of online browsing. It is Fatha’s fragmented love affair with instant connectivity that is executed in her informal film and web aesthetic. She documents her personal journeys of rapid behavioural transitions between loss, humour, passion and loneliness. Fatha often uses multiple screens to exaggerate the tangibility of a portable device augmenting the intimate physical control given by the familiar interaction of a touch screen, computer mouse, head-set or microphone. Fatha creates a heart-felt parody of a coming-of-age post-modern digital landscape.
